Fall 2012 Content
A Message from our Director
Our 2012-2013 season kicked off with the second installment of The Lincoln Legacy Project, which aims to create a dialogue in our nation’s capital around the issues of tolerance, equality and acceptance. Our fall production, Fly, focused on the Tuskegee Airmen and their ground-breaking training and deployment during World War II.
By The Numbers
The 2011-2012 season proved to be another great year for Ford’s Theatre; we opened the new Center for Education and Leadership, and we have watched our programs and numbers grow.
Actor Spotlight: A Christmas Carol
Another grand tradition at Ford’s is the production of A Christmas Carol. We took a moment and spoke with actress Felicia Curry, who is in her fourth year playing the Ghost of Christmas Past.
A Tuskegee Airman Story
Like the African-American military pioneers featured in our recent production of Fly, Lieutenant Melvin M. Nelson was a Tuskegee Airman. He was also the father of Ford’s Theatre’s own Jennifer L. Nelson, Director of Special Programming.
Chairman of the Board: Eric Spiegel
This September we welcomed our new Chairman of the Board, Mr. Eric A. Spiegel. We wanted to take this opportunity to share more about him with you, our most loyal supporters.
