NATIONAL PARK SERVICE AND FORD’S THEATRE SOCIETY TO HOST PUBLIC HEARING JUNE 28, 5-6 p.m.

Washington, D.C.—The National Park Service (NPS) and Ford’s Theatre Society will host a public hearing to discuss a proposed increase in the convenience fee for advance individual reservations to Ford’s Theatre National Historic Site from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28, at Ford’s Theatre, located at 511 10th Street, N.W.  All patrons and members of the public are invited to attend to comment or ask questions about the proposed increase.

Beginning September 1, 2010, the proposed convenience charge for an advance reservation would increase from $1.50 to $2.50 per ticket for individuals. The proposed increase will support staffing and other costs incurred by Ford's Theatre Society associated with its assistance in operating the site. This proposed increase will not affect the free, same-day tickets that are picked up at the Ford’s Theatre Box Office. The convenience charge for group tickets will remain at $1.25.

All wishing to attend the public hearing should RSVP to (202) 434-9525 by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010.
