Teacher Preview / Workshops
For our fall, winter and spring mainstage productions, Ford’s Theatre offers a free preview performance and pre-show workshop to D.C. area educators. In addition to a great night out, this program provides teachers with valuable resources for teaching social studies and language themes using theatrical experiences. Space is limited; first priority is given to teachers who have reserved tickets for a student matinee. Workshops include dinner of pizza and salad.
National Oratory Fellows
The program is open to previous Civil War Washington Teacher Fellows. This program helps educators learn how to use oratory and performance as teaching strategies in history and ELA classrooms. Learn how to make history content come alive for your students as they discover the meaning and context behind some of history’s greatest speeches, and the people who spoke them.
